Dedective Work
One summer,the sixteen-year old Paul got a holiday job at the town.He
was pleased and excited about the job because he needed money.He was also interested in history, because when he stared the job,he was studying history at school. On the day he began his job, a valuable exhibit arrived. It was a beautiful diamond necklace, on loan from a wealthy local family called the Gilbertsons.
Two weeks later, someone stole te necklace, in spite of the security cameras and the guards. Everyone in the museums was a possible suspect but in the eyes of the police Paul was the most likely one. The necklace disappeared only two weeks after he started working there, and this was very unusual for the museum.
A few days after the event, while Paul was paiting the wall at the back of the pirate exhibit, he noticed the necklace. The necklace was in the treasure chest. He couldn't believes his eyes. On his way to the police station to give the necklace back, he chaned his mind. He knew they would directly suspect him.
Paul needed to find out the thief in order to prove his innocence. There were several people on his suspect list. First, he suspected Mary Celeste, because she was at the garden at the time of the theft and she did not tell the poli,ce about that. He also suspected Doreen Jonhson because her brother was a gambler and he needed money. Another suspect was Andy Brown because the week before, he had an accident and damaged his car. Hen didn't have insuramce, so he needed a lot of money.
Paul had to think fast. He made a daring plan and laid a trap for the thief.....
